Project Tasks & Overview

Students must explore and integrate the design concept and construction method from the previous assignment into a more complex programme for this final project. In relation to the natural landscape, students must define a proposition for a small freestanding structure. In architectural design, the user, site, and function are all interpreted and synthesised. This structure's design must show how you used architectural goals and principles, as well as materiality, constructability, and context, to create a memorable spatial experience for the user.

Design Intention

"To design a solitary haven that motivates us to explore the unfulfilled desires, in addition, to facilitate a mindful conversation that deepens the connection between us, which contributes to the self-improvement that eventually leads us to advance onto a better life."

Reflection

In project 3, I get to know the importance of site context and user requirements. It shapes the whole project and provides inspiration for me. My design thinking process are also more clear and well-developed compared to my semester 1 final project.

The hardest part of this project is the site analysis. The site is very big, making the work of collecting data more heavy. The other obstacle that I faced is the application of organic form and construction details. They were still new to me but I believed that I have gained some experience after finishing this project.

Finally, this is my first project with client's needs and a site context. It marks the starting point of my architecture journey and I hope to use the knowledges I learnt in this semester in my future projects.
